Picture of the Chateau Laurier from on top of the peace tower.

1st try with a new process trying to make the picture look like a plastic model.

Comments/critiques welcome.

Wow.. sGu's are truly amazing though. That was some very nice work. Nice to know alternate methods of achieving the (somewhat) same effect.

I can't stop looking at sGu's. They are really great. Thanks for the link.

Are you sure that's not your model train set? LOL Only joking... Nice shot.... The top one does look almost plastic...

You did a good job at making it look plastic, I didn't read your caption and it took me awhile to figure it out. lol

I love shots like this, but it's really easy to tell it's a "fake." I don't think your angle is quite right to be convincing. You caught some faraway objects in the "in focus" range. When the distance from the lens doesn't seem to have any correlation to whether it's in focus or not it takes away from the effect.

Thank you for this comment. I never even thought of that when i processed this. I am definately going to take that into consideration when doing the next one.

Look especially in the foreground. There's what appears to be a steeple of some sort just to the right of center. It extends up and covers the first couple of floors of the main subject.

The top of it is in perfect focus despite the fact that there's a bunch of very OOF stuff in between it and the main subject.

This is why high angles and large distances tend to work so well for faking this kinda stuff :)

Nice shot! I'm planning to go to Ottawa during the family day weekend. Got any advice for nice shooting locations?

BTW, do you have link to tutorial on how to achieve such amazing post-processing result?
