I'll finally be getting something for this section (small newspaper has valentine's day "issue", more like cosmo on newsprint if you ask me, legal issues around posting here don't have to be accounted for luckly), but I'm at a loss for what to do. The tentative plan is something along the lines of 7 deadly sins and two special shots for the cover (unrelated to the main shoot). Current equipment I have: 1dMKIII, 16-35, 70-200, 50 1.8, 85 1.8, 300 2.8, 430EX. Equipment I can get at the drop of a hat: 5d, 24-70, 35L, 50 1.4, 85L mkI, 135L, 2x Alienbees (not sure on the rating) w/ tripod stand, 2x Pocket Wizards, 580EXII, 580EX.
I was planning on making a "ghetto" (as they would say in NJ) softbox/umbrella/reflector set with a few bucks at home depot, but there are a few problems to deal with. First, the "studio" is a dorm room, so it is about 7x14x8 (WxLxH). Second, the light inside is a two bulb fluorescent thing with a crusty yellow cover and a single ballast. Third, the walls are off white, closer to a peach like color (though still technically white). Any suggestions on how to make the most of this thing (I'll be needing very different looking shots from set to set, but don't really have an option on space)
