Hi, all. This is my first post here. I just finished building a gallery with the pictures from the past year. I would love to hear some feedback. It seems like 20D is the talk of the town right now, but i've been very happy with my trusty 10D. The gallery was designed with Exhibit Engine written by the owner of this site. Thanks to Pekka for providing such a wonderful software.

Those photos look fantastic. The good majority of them look very crisp and in focus, I love them

Hi,

Just found your Gallery. Marvellous pictures, I don`t remember when I have seen such a lively and lovely pictures from children. Not much photoshop tricks, just bare pics.

I think it was some years ago when I found Pekka`s pictures when I was as impressed.

I just smiled here on the other side of the world when I looked your pictures from Abigail fex...

She is really a Princess.

Thanks: matti

Matti, thank you for such kind words. I am still very shy about showing my photos to others. Each time I see the work of others, I am reminded how much more there is to learn. I think it was Pekka’s G2 and D30 gallery that inspired me over to this digital side a few years ago. I still admire his photos as well as those of many others on this forum.

I am very glad that pictures of my daughter brought simile to you halfway around the world. I think that's what makes this hobby so rewarding.

Warmest regards,

Ted

:D Ted,

Thanks :D :D

I'm learning every day, more and more about digital and hope to have some shots some time in the future. I've gotten some decent pics, but still need a lot of stick time on the 10D; I'll get there.

Have you used C1-LE and or Adobe Camera Raw? I have PS 7 and am thinking about going to CS with CR and DNG. What do you think :?:

Thanks again,

Gene

I use both C1 and PS CS. Shooting RAW gives me a lot of room for exposure and whilte balance correction. If you haven't gotten used to one or the other, I would just go with Photoshop CS. When it comes to processing, I am on the minimalist side. Most of my photos get a little bit of curves and a light USM treatment. I also like playing with semi-toning [halfway b/w color and black and white]. Someone once said, "great images are made". I think it becomes more evident on the digtal side. My PS knowledge is very limited and there's much to learn.

Best regards,

Ted
