Hello,

What does everyone use for their online portfolio? I have been weighing up having a custom one designed and developed but at this stage i think it will out cost me, is their any really nice pre-made services?

Also how do you present your work in a offline portfolio? What size prints do you use and how are they arranged in the album, also what albums are best?

Many Thanks
Richard Howell

Hello Richard,

I am far from an expert but I have opted to use WWW.IFP3.COM (http://www.IFP3.COM). They have what seems to be a really nice setup, unlimited files and uploads. You can modify the look of your site with no real computer expertise. You can charge for your photos if you choose. They provide a link thru Paypal which saves you from having to set up a merchant account. They have examples.

My site is www.alspix.ifp3.com (http://www.alspix.ifp3.com). For what it's worth, I like it, I've already sold some work thru it that I probably wouldn't have sold without it.

Good luck!
Al

and how are they arranged in the album If you're asking about weddings, or WHATEVER, it would be really nice if you said what?

I use J Album... it doesn't give the capability for the customer to purchase photos directly from my website (haven't figured that part out yet anyway!), but it's a good viewing media, and it was free from web:
Here is my website portfolio: http://www.photoartbyj.com/portfolio/index.html
(JAlbum has many different "skins" you can choose from.. my skin is called "chameleon)

I use www.exposuremanager.com. It's cheap and very easy to use. I've been using it for almost a year and the customer service is great. My site is www.charlyawilliamsphotography.com if you want to see it. You can use domain forwarding and mask the site as if it was your website.
