Strange error message when editing a post

While attempting to edit one of my posts, I got a popup message that made no sense when I hit the submit button. Here's a screenshot, with the error message just below the text of my post.

Hopefully it speaks for itself.

You weren't editing in that screenshot, you were quoting and replying. In a reply, you have to type at least three characters.

In an edit, you wouldn't see the [quote] brackets around your text.

Am I close?
