Ok this is the best camera I have EVER shot. The AF speed is simply amazing. I don't know if I dialed in the lights today, but holy hell. WB was dead on, and I did the least amount of PP I have ever done. I really can't speak to highly of this camera. Amazing!!!!

On to the pictures, Enjoy

5. Ok Number Five is a weird one. I accidentally dialed down my shutter to 100 instead of 250. But the image came out kinda cool as I panned with the guy and he stayed in focus, so I kept the image.

Nice shots! Focus is spot on! :)

Glad it works well for what you do......I never really found to many situations where I needed servo or 8 fps shooting weddings with it.....still will be missed though!

Enjoy and thanks again Matt! Any questions hit me up....I know that camera inside and out....

Yeah that thing focuses so quick it isn't even funny. Heck I don't even know when I will use the 8FPS lol I guess next season during Soph and JV football since they are played in the afternoon and maybe baseball.

The bokeh seems much better as well, I don't know why but it seems better. Also the images were all pretty accurate with exposure and wb which was great.

Skin tones look to be more natural (except the third) than previous postings.
Sharp pictures good action. they look good.
Enjoy your new camera.

These look too wide for the 70-200 based on your position. What lens/settings did you use?

They look great. Good job. My only little bit of advice is see if you can get on the other side of the hoop. Most players are right handed and so when the elevate from the location you are at, you are always going to get an arm blocking the face. I know there are tons of other factors... but thats a huge one. Of course the side the ref likes to hang out on also impacts decision were to shoot from. Nothing more lovely then a bunch of shots of refs butts.

Yeah in this gym I was not allowed to :( The assistant Principal told me not to as the entrance was within a few feet of where I would be.

What do you mean wide?

70-200 F2.8 L, and different settings here and there, but mostly F2.8 and ISO of 320 or 400.

Nice shots Matt. I have the MKIII, but I still rely on my MKII quite a bit still.

yeah I am really enjoying this camera. It is so different then the 40D I had, but I am quickly getting used to it.

I think the biggest thing I am having issues with is the image settings (ie, tone curve, etc...0

Any advice or profiles I can download that are usually solid?

I just meant that it looked wider than 70mm, so I was wondering if you used a different lens. You must have been further back than I was imagining. The pics look great...I may actually do the same thing you did this summer. I'm going to try out the 40D at soccer...if I don't get a noticeable improvement from my 20D, I'm going 1-series ASAP.

yeah I was closer to the actual sideline because of the dang cheerleaders! Don't get me wrong I don't mind them, but I hate when I have to move from my favorite spots in order for them to be able to do their toe touches :(

So yeah I was almost at the actual sideline to the sideline.

Also, FWIW, remember that the 40D is a 1.6x while the 1D series are either 1.3 or FF depending on the model. The 70 that he sees actually is wider than the 70 that you see.
