Nice concept with the reflection in the water. Picture does seem very soft almost out of focus, what camera/lens??

Thanks for the comment.

I was using my Ixus 330 (S330?) and was about 70 yards away from the horse (didn't want to frighten it off)

It is a Przewalski Horse - which is (I believe) the only remaining breed of wild horse in Europe!

It is a beautiful picture. You might sharpen it a bit, but it is beautiful.

I would like to see what it would look like if this shot could be set against (say) 10 times your photo area. If, for example, the landscape is rolling, etc, it might make an even more unforgettable shot. You see, I think that there is a tendency to zoom in on shots that – if enlarged – have even more to say. So, if the surrounding landscape can work to your advantage, I'd use it.

But you will have to hang around for .. horse.. light ... down for a drink .. etc.

I agree with Howie. Am curious to see what the hills behind it looked like and it could use a little Photoshop sharpening action.

Great job catching the reflection though. Beautiful creature. 8)

Thanks for the idea - untit you said it I hadn't realised by in the majority of my shots I do zoom and try to get as close to the subject as possible. Great tip!

I'll go an lie near the river again and see what happens - might be there a few months though :o)
