I am having a problem (I think) with my 20D and the Viewer software. When I plug the camera in to the computer and open the viewer software all I can access is a view of the thumbnails. If I double click on a thumbnail I get an error that says can not preview this image, there are no RAW editing tool available, and I can not convert RAW files to TIFF or JPEGS. But, when I view the images from a card reader everything works fine. Is it supposed to work like that or is there something wrong with my camera/software?

I got hung up on this as well. I read the manual and figured out that the software cannot open up the files from the camera. You have to transfer them to the computer first and then all is well.

I was suprised to see that the JPG images the viewer displays is much softer than the RAW images, I thought it would be the other way around. The EOS View must by default sharpen the RAW images in loads in, sound right?

Had different sort of issue with the software (software only, I hope)

The grey I see using the EOS viewer is scary. What is going on?
