My uncle got me a camera bag from Ritz Camera, but it doesn't fit my 40d and I already have a bag anyway.

I've never been a big fan of Ritz, even as a child before I got into photography (I'm only 19).

So I've narrowed it down to another memory card, filter, or battery pack. Right now I am leaning toward the battery as you can never have too many, IMO. The memory cards they offer aren't worth the price, and I'm picky with the filters I use. Other stores have let me test the filter before I made my purchase. Ritz only carries Quantaray filters and would not let me test them.

That leaves me with a spare battery as an option. So here is my question: What are your experiences with off-brand (by that, I mean other than Canon) batteries? The one they are selling is made by Quantaray. Anyone have experiences with this brand particularly?

Thanks for any feedback!

If you had a flash, I'd suggest a set of the Sanyo AAs they carry. Or maybe an OpTech RainSleeve. I haven't tried their batteries, but I do use Sterlingtek 3rd party ones which are fine.

Ritz sucks at the big items, although they have some good bags. They are a haven for accessories so maybe just get some money on a card and get some AA's, lenspens, blower, and w/e else. Frames and prints as well.

As for batteries, better to spend your own money on Sterlingtek then waste perfectly good trade in money.

Still, this brings up the question once again, returning a gift? Has it been awhile, did he say, "I don't if you'd like it or not" Idk, just been a lot of kids returning stuff, but at least yours seems valid.

Oh, it's not that I don't like it at all. It's that I have no use for it because it doesn't fit my 40d + everything else I have. That and I already have a perfectly good bad. Regardless, I still appreciate the gift. After all, gifts, IMO, aren't necessary. So any gift is appreciated to me.

Thanks for the feedback, though!
