I covered quite a bit of fashion shows in the past few months, but I finally found the time to publish just a handful of them today. Kind of hard to do any photo work now that I'm working full time at my marketing job and doing school still. I've only edited 100 out of 300 from a series of 2700 pictures. Yeah, takes time.

All shots on the runway were with two x1600 bare bulb at full power positioned 16ft high at 45 degrees at the end of the runway about a good 20ft away. I setup an AB800 at full power a bit closer to the start of runway with a large softbox (no internal diffuser) about 10 ft away.
I had 5 shooting spots picked out that I metered. The start position was metered at f/5.6 at ISO100 with the AB800. The series went f/4, f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6 thereafter. The runway was about 45ft long btw. I put two tables on top of each other next to the wall near the end of the runway - I was about 10-15ft away. My shooting position was about 5 ft high and had a clear line of sight of the whole runway over everyone's head.
I used my 70-200 f/2.8 IS set servo mode. When the models strolled down the runway, I just looked through my camera and intuitively changed the f/stop on the camera while I was still shooting. This was extremely difficult as I had 5 positions of different values to change in split second intervals. There were 75 models and 9 designers at this event. I almost ran out of space at the end.
Lighting at this event was quite poor, not the worst I've been at, so I had a higher number of out of focus pictures than I had hoped for. I really can't wait till I get a 1D for the advanced AF system.
I should have some more pictures tomorrow.
