Git, have been chasing the bloody things for months, saw 11 in one day this week but didn't have my camera with me - sat in a layby having a sandwich he was sat 20 feet away and stayed there :(
Great shot and not far from me, in fact I think my work route may take me through the ToB next week :)

My problem with Buzzards is that they seem to swoop low and hide whenever they see a man with a camera - man with no camera = no worries, lol !

That doesn't look like a buzzard to me , looks like some kinda hawk . I looked up buzzard and had no idea they looked like a hawk . What Texans know as a buzzard is this : http://www.fcps.k12.va.us/StratfordLandingES/Ecology/Birds/Turkey%20Vulture/turkey-vulture-scS.jpg . Your pict looks alot better tho :) !!!

In the U.S. a Buzzard is just another name for a vulture, not sure where it came from, I only remember it from movies. Your buzzard is a Hawk over here. Nice capture anyway. I just find it funny to call hawks buzzards.....steve

i have read that calling vultures buzzards in the u.s.actually began as a mistaken i.d. by early settlers for the hawk called a buzzard in britain.
