I need a silouhette photo - black on white background. Side view of subject's face. Only head shot needed. Hoping to get a nice sharp edge on the image.

I have lots of AB stuff 800's , 1600's, umbrellas, softbox.... . Have a good idea of how to do it, but wanted to get input from someone else. Will be using 40D with Tamron 28-75.

Light a white background brightly and evenly with two strobes, one on each side of background.

Place subject 1/4 or 1/3 the distance from the camera to the background, i.e. the subject is closer to the camera than the background.

Use black panels (or similar) to block off as much of the reflected light from the subject as possible.

Using a very small aperture, set the exposure so that the background just starts to get blown out.

Post-process to get background completely white and the subject completely black if necessary.
