Had to shoot swimming for Davidson College tonight - not my favorite sport to shoot. Freestyle is particularly hard to shoot - they don't come of the water much and say "Cheese!"
Technical Info: Mark II N body, 70-200/2.8 Non-IS lens, 550 flash set to ETTL, 1/250 at f 3.5. I used Dennis W's "Whole Enchilada" to post process.

Swimming is one sport I have never shot but I can see how it would be tough. Shot looks good Brian.

Nice - looks like you got the flash & exposure right. I like the way a properly set flash ices the water. I must've missed the 'whole enchilada' thread. Please share - I shoot a fair bit of swimming and am always keen to learn.

Nice shot
Swimming is fun to shoot, except getting ID's for the newspaper, always wished they'd paint a number on the swimmers forehead :D

It's a lot of fun getting to know the swimmers, The HS girls season goes by way to fast.

One of the schools I shot at had sort of a flooding divider to divide the pool up for diving and the swim meets. I had this idea to get in the water with a Nikonos and try shooting the kids underwater when they made the turn. But then I would have had to buy a Nikon something and I doubted the school would have allowed it anyway. Should have had the paper arrange something during practice

That would be cool

1 set of dive gear 1500.00 + or -
