Put up some new ones...
In some of the pictures, Ive got a little bit of blur from shooting at 1/640. In your opinion, would it be better to shoot at a higher ISO with a little more noise to afford a higher shutter speed? And then run some mild noise ninja maybe? Or is it ok as is?

Haha well thanks for the kind words. Whats your take on the motion blur I mentioned? You think I should shoot higher ISO to stop it while getting more noise?
Is the noise right now a problem? These are all at 1600ISO with no NR being done whatsoever. I think if I step up to 2000, I may have to use a little bit of NR which is something I would rather not do if I dont have to.

IMHO, the only noise I can see is on the very last image, top right corner, other than that, to me, the noise at ISO1600 is ok. Would ISO 2000 be about 1/3 stop more? how much SS increase would you get???
Personally, I like basketball images without any motion blur. some sports its nice to have motion blur, but IMO, not basketball, preharps, I haven seen 1 with a nice motion blur. U get what I mean?
I'm PP'ing my images, will post some later.
I've got a qn for you Adam, with regards to your posture when shooting them images? are you sitting on the floor, kneeling, standing, sitting on a chair with wheels?

Thanks for the response. Going to 2000 ISO will let me use 1/800 instead of 1/640. I too agree that you shouldnt have motion blur in Basketball pictures unless youre trying to do something artsy (which Im not).
When I shoot basketball Im always sitting on the floor. I suppose you could kneel if you had to but theres a press bench behind me with people and I cant block their view. Standing never gives a good angle and youd get yelled at for doing it anyways. No hard chairs are allowed at the baseline because of players potentially crashing into you. There is a camera guy at either end of the court that gets a little rolly chair but thats it (at least at Freedom Hall).

yeah, i was thinking of getting a rolly chair to sit on to shoot, so i can move around a little.
I don't like it when the official's ass is in my frame and i know that there's decent action going on and the damn official is in the way.
I know my school has like insurance on the hardwood floors... so i'm not sure if the rolly chair will fly with them.
How do you get such awesome angles sitting on the floor Adam???
Would you mind posting the original uncropped of the last one, so I can learn something from you.

Shots are ubber great... love the firt one. On my laptop, contrast looks a little pushed - and whites are crashed in a few. Could just be the laptop though. Good stuff. Too your question, I would guess an extra half stop in ISO would probably help without any real image degredation. I would go for it.

Ill give you the contrasty point maybe but I know none of those should be touching the ride side of the histogram. Ill check it again and be more careful next time. Thanks
