Hi all, first post on the forums as I recently got a great camera as a present and came across this cool site.

I've been thinking of attaching a keyring and a lanyard to the wrist-strap connector on my SD850 and I'm just wondering if this is okay and will be secure enough.

I'm concerned because I know that the wrist strap attachment, also the neckstrap that can be purchased, is made of fabric and that a metal keyring might not be the best solution. Anyone have any ideas on this?

You mean a split-O ring? If it's big enough to carry a coupled of keys and is a full split-O, it should be fine. I used a large (2.5" diameter) one as a replacement when one of the plastic fittings on my Domke's strap broke (20+ lb. load). So a smaller one should be fine for a mere SD850.

Use a shoelace with a knot (or paracord) to avoid the camera getting scratched up, if you care about stuff like that I mean LOL :D
