The good and bad

Went to the park since we have more bad weather moving in. I wanted to get out before I got stuck inside. While at the park I saw what I thought was a hawk but it was very, very small.

The good news is that it was a hawk. A kestrel no doubt, who gave me a long time to get some snapping. I have never seen a kestrel before, and thought they did'nt come this far east. Anyway thats the end of the good news

Bad news is it was at this time my XTI stopped giving me proper focus. It was fine earlier in the day, but now the focus is off even with my kit lens. I only bought it 7-8 months ago. Don't know what to do about it, cause I don't know what would cause it.

Yup, you have a Kestrel, they do come east as we have a lot of them here on PEI, but only in the warmer months. I had a focus problem a few weeks ago that ended up being me. I use center point af , well some how I pushed the wrong button when turning the dial and instead of changing EC i changed the focus point to one on the right. I was trying to focus on little birds with the center point and the trees on the right kept popping into focus. I hope this is all your problem turns out to be will. Good Luck.
