Good for the pup!! That is the way snow is to be enjoyed!!

As someone who has travelled often into areas that get little snow as they get their snow, how was the traffic

Feb 1 and each weekend until Feb 17 is the Winter Carnival in Ottawa, come on up and see how to play in the snow:D

How far south are you? I'm originally from NJ, then Boston. Now I'm in NC and think snow is highly over-rated, lol. We're expected to have 1-3 inches and everyone here is freaking out. I'm like... I've lived in places where there was to be feet, not inches, of snow and there was no major "severe weather alert." It still gets cold down here, but I haven't had to de-ice my car - yet.

Try living the UK, even the mention of snow/wind/rain in terms of adverse weather conditions sends the whole country into panic. People go out panic buying canoes/sledges:lol:
But it is stupid, it is all hyped up by the media

Yeah - my husband who was raised in England said there were more snowy winters there when he was young than there are now. Global warming I guess?

I've been in London for over 4 years and have still never seen snow my entire life. We had a fall of snow last year but it didn't settle.

I'm in Mississippi about 2 hours North of New Orleans. Last time we had any snow accumulation was back in 1996 if I remember correctly. Snowed 4" to 6" in late March of all times.

As for the drivers around, your better off to stay at home cause these fools don't have a clue.

Anytime the Wx-man says the "S" word it is coded talk. That means one must rush out to the store and purchase large quantities of milk sandwich making supplies! Everyone knows you can't survive a blizzard without milk sammiches!!!

I'm probably going to regret this, but what on earth is a milk sandwich?

Milk sandwiches are what Carolinians seem to think you need in the event of snow...any time it is in the forecast...you are required by law to go buy up every last drop of milk and crumb of bread. Oddly enough, nobody actually knows how a milk sandwich is constructed. You are also instructed to buy every plastic shovel, bag of rock salt and container of kitty litter....just in case!

We got about 4 hours of it on Tuesday. Then 3 days of rain

Yep - my husband said people were lined up out the door at the grocery store the other night. I think we wound up with like maybe an inch. It's already melted off the ground. Still freezing cold though. I hate it cold.

Nail meet hammer, with the exception that IMO it's the transplanted Carolinians.. The rest of us have sense enough about us to survive more than at least several days without staple foods. :)

Personally, it is my opinion that the CEO's of the local news outlets recieve kickbacks from the CEO's of the grocery store chains. Call me crayz!

LOL ...
Funny how that happens. After every big earthquake, people here run to the stores and buy all the bottled water off the shelves, a half-dozen flash lights, and EVERY battery they can get their hands on, even if they're the WRONG SIZE for the flash lights they just bought.

Then, all the stuff they buy sits around and either goes bad, or eventually gets lost amongst all the other junk in the garage. So when there's another big earthquake, they can run out and buy it again!!

And you wrap your milk sandwiches in toilet paper :)

As the news folks chant on the TV in the times of snow: "Bread, Milk, Toilet Paper; Bread, Milk, Toilet Paper; ...." and the panic sets in...at least around here ;)

There is going to be a shortage of toilet paper - better stock up now.

(self-fulfilling prophecy) :)
