Hi All,
I am trying to host 200,000 photos in EE, and they are 100 photos in group.
I am wondering which of the following approach is better, in terms of speed and management.
No. of Groups No. of exhibition/Group No. of photo/exhibition
2000 1 100
100 20 100
10 200 100
1 2000 100
Is there any difference in speed when we display the list.php (exhibition list view)? Or they all behave the same?

I would say the best choice IMHO would be make bigger exhibitions (like 500 -1000 photos each) and then group them by content.
Exhibitions work fast even with thousands of photos. Only technical thing slowing them down a bit is MySQL sorting engine, and if you use "author's order" as sorting that is the fastest one.
Of your choices I'd pick
No. of Groups No. of exhibition/Group No. of photo/exhibition
10 200 100
but
No. of Groups No. of exhibition/Group No. of photo/exhibition
40 50 100
Would be easier to browse. The exhibition dropdown list will always be 2000, but if you really need to have that many exhibitions I think a hack could be written to show only exhibitions belonging to a selected group (add a group selector to list page and group limiter to sql where clauses). This area of EE is currently under work (unlimited nesting) so in time you would be able to sort them out even more efficiently.

That's really great to hear! :D
