I've been thinking about this - Having a website to upload pictures onto, having a person select the picture and paying via paypal, then the picture number will be sent to me, I can do PP and print them at costco/walgreens, then mail them out
Any ideas where/how to do this?
I also wouldn't mind a system which prints themselves, but would let me know about the picture when ordered so I could do PP on it before it is printed

I sort of do this on SmugMug:
www.LightOfTheWild.com
People pick the pictures, email me what they want, send check/paypal, I print and send them out.

that's a bit tedious isn't it. what if they want 100 different prints? they'd have to type each file name out and what size they want.

The day someone wants to order 100 prints at one time, I'll pay someone to professionally re-do the site. 100 prints would be on the order of a $5000+ order.

Well like they would "purchase" the picture, i would get an email notifying which picture, then I would edit and print and mail.
I shoot mainly sports, so chances of a person wanting more then 2-3 prints are slim, also I dont have to PP prior, especially when I get 200ish pics per game.
Any free service?

You get what you pay for
Free probably won't be very good and not the most user friendly.
Costco's/Walgreens prints are not going to match up with a real lab prints. Why not sign up for a site with a good lab and have them do all the work and you can concentrate on shooting more and promoting? I know noone wants to sign up for a site because you have to pay ahead of time and don't know if you'll make it back but honestly the $99 that Exposure Manager charges - if a photographer can't make that back in a week then something is seriously wrong with that photographer.

I agree with MJPhotos24. Let EM or others like EM (SmugMug, Zenfolio) handle the printing for you.

It then becomes a battle of which service to choose....ExpMan, Smuggie, Zenfolio, etc. There's plenty of threads on here that discuss them all. As always I still suggest EM more than anyone by far. :)

I use Instaproofs (http://www.instaproofs.com)for my print orders (client proofing) and I fulfill orders/print through WHCC and deliver myself. MUCH preferred over other options right now. I get to see what is going to my clients, print customized invoices, and packaging. It's worth it.

You can use Exposure Manager (http://www.exposuremanager.com/aff/newtampaconcierge) to do self fullfillment. Client picks their favorites, tells you sizes and quantities, and even pays through EM, you then decide how you want to print them. You don't have to use EM to print. Works very nicely.
You get an email with picture name, quantity ordered, sizes needed, etc.
Works great.

Think I might do that combined with printing at costco. Free shipping from them and I've always been happy with their prints
