Aloha!

I'm Aero145, a young photographer born and currently living in Iceland. I've had interests in aircraft since I was four years old, and the main reason is because I moved to a house which is only a few meters (~70 metres) from Reykjavik airport's main runway. In December 2005, I got myself my first dSLR camera. The lenses slowly came and the skills went up. I've got just less than 900 images on Airliners.net, and the first ones were taken using a tiny P&S, the DiGiTAL IXUS i. Last year I got some nice glass, and a 5D, but I swapped the 5D for a 1D II N. Last year was great for photography here in Iceland, and I also went abroad a few times. Here are some photos showing a tiny bit of my work from 2005-2007. Don't be angry that there's not so much prop blur in all of the photos - I'm not *yet* doing much of that.

Here's the bunch. You will be also able to find them on Airliners.net. Note, only 8 pics are with [-img-], the others are linked. Please check them too. :]

Thanks guys!

Great prop blur? Well thanks, but that's not real prop blur, mate. :)

What is it?

It's a tiny bit of blur. IMO, real prop blur is when the props can move so the viewer can see a real movement. Not real prop blur is for example my C-47A + Dash 8 photo.

Nice images. Technically very sharp and crisp. However, your crops are a bit tight and you might also give some thought to leaving a little more room in front of moving aircraft so they have somewhere to "go."

*Sigh*

Wish I'd have had access to today's level of gear when I was your age. Unfortunately, being a "late bloomer" is my cross to bear.

Yo FP,

I understand what you mean about the crops. I must admit something: All those photos were edited in my PC, and the originals are there too - now I'm in my new Mac. I uploaded them all on 0Airliners.net, and the pictures above are only resizes of my Airliners.net pics. Next time I'll remember about the extra space in the front. As a matter of fact, I try to crop like that usually for Airliners.net, but I understand how you want it here. :)

It's a piece of cake to get work here in Iceland, for example at 13; if it would have been like that when you were young, I guess you would have got your stuff much sooner. ;)

Best regards,
Aero

Hold on there Davíð. If you´re not willing to work as a cashier in a supermarket or as salesman or a Pizza guy, your options are quite limited, especially if you´re in school. It's easy to get a summer job but they are only in the summer and part time jobs in winter are mostly as a cashier or as a salesman, and warehouse and stocking shelves jobs are rare, but then again, I might not be looking hard enough.

beautiful shots, beautiful country.
nice job getting 900 on airliners.net, it seems that site is hard to please.
does it get old living that close to an airport?

Thanks guys;

VariEze: Þú veist ég ber út - það virkar (sorry English guys :p)
Medicdude: It doesn't get old living close to an airport, but I though want to move to Europe. :)
