I spotted this little bird while I was watching the sora rail. It was probing the waters edge on the opposite bank from the sora. This is my first sighting of a swamp sparrow. Thanks for looking...tom

Fantastic shot! This, though, is a Lincoln's Sparrow. The Swamp Sparrow wouldn't have the streaking that you see here, plus it would have more yellow on the bill. The wings on the Swamp Sparrow would also be solidly rufous, not the streaks as on this bird. This, along with a few other marks, and the fact that a Swamp Sparrow would be pretty rare in Arizona, make this a Lincoln's Sparrow. Great shot nonetheless!

The wings on the Swamp Sparrow would also be solidly rufous, not the streaks as on this bird. Nice capture, Tom. I like everything about it. Only nit would be that a lower perspective might have been better.
