So, we've established the hardware is the same, but still, why can Mac users get windows to run almost natively but there's no such luck the other way around ? Mac users can use boot camp, vmware and parallels to run windows or windows applications. Can anyone explain why you can't get it to work the other way around ?

Ah ah, I read that article :p but have you tried it ? It's hard work, only for the tech savvy and in my case, I only got as far as the macOS installation. Mac users just install windows and they're done.

Don't need to try it. I have a gen-new-wine Mac machine to run OS X on! :p

Because you don't need to. Remember that old body kit that people could put on VW Beetles to make them look like a Porche 911? Well, needless to say, Porche never released a body kit to make their cars look like a VW ...

Because Steve says if you want OS X, you buy a Mac.
Damo, nice analogy. :)

It's illegal that's why.

It can be done pretty easily.
The only reason it doesn't officially work is because of a BIOS check on MacOS' part. Hacked DVD's remove this check. Obviously this is illegal though.
