View Full Version : How to change owner's name on IXUS v3/PS S230?

Hi everyone!

For almost two years ago I somehow changed the attribute "owner's name" (a so called makernote attribute I think?) in my Canon IXUS v3. That field gets inserted into every picture you take, along with firmware version number etc.

Now I don't remember how to change it! I just can't find the right application (I've looked through ZoomBrowser) to do it with and I've searched the net a lot.

Can anyone help?

Best regards

ZoomBrowser | Camera | Camera Settings in ZB 4.6; Setup | Camera Settings, I believe in ZB 3.x.

Thanks for your quick reply!

I'm using ZoomBrowser EX 4.0, but I can't find the menus you're referring to. The most logical places like Tools | Preferences doesn't give anything, neither does Edit | My Camera Settings.

Maybe I need another version of ZB?

Best regards

An upgrade's a free download. But check the software manual that came with your camera. It should be in there. I'd look at sub-items in Edit | My Camera Settings if you don't have anything like the other two I posted.

Wow, you're extremely fast at replying! :) Thanks!

I upgraded to ZB v4.6.1a and found the option immediately as you described! As I changed the option a long time ago it must've been present in an older version or something.

The funny thing is that the American Canon website offers a lot more software than the European one, where I even couldn't find ZB at all. But as long as one knows that the IXUSv3 is a PowerShot S230 in the States... :)

Thanks again!
