NOT waterproof.
I got my 10D a little damp on a few occasions in very light rain with no ill effects,.. ..but this is not advisable.

Light mist, with a rain shield. "Waterproof" specifically implies capable of functioning during or after complete immersion. Even the 1Ds Mk II isn't up to that.

The 20D is comparable to the 10D in that respect and I've used my 10 many times in heavy snow or misty rain with a plastic bag with no adverse impact. I wouldn't use either camera in a heavy downpour or without protection. While a little damp probably won't hurt, getting the camera wet could wreak havoc with the sensitive electronics.
