I think I must have a slight case of obsessive compulsive disorder, I've just cleaned my sensor & I must admit trying to get rid of every little spot is probably impossable?? I just hope I haven't done the sensor any harm by 'over' cleaning it! When cleaning your own sensor does anyone manage to just do the recommended one swipe across & back? I think I cleaned mine 5 times to get it as clean as I thought it should be, even now there still remains a couple of spots. I've just taken a few test shots & all seems ok.

When I cleaned my sensor I did the required one swipe across and back and it almost always got everything. I use Pec Pads and their solution.
The odd dust bunny doesn't really bother me as they are so easy to take care of in PS.
Doing it five times or more in one cleaning does seem a little excessive. I'm unsure whether this would have any effect.
If you live close to a Canon service center, take it in there. I did that the first couple of times and they do get everything.

1?
5?
How about 13?
OK, primarily because I made the spatula swiper wrong the first time - it was hitting the side and not the sensor. Then I didn't trust it. Then I still had spots, faint ones, and finally determined that it's really "just" the sensor.
I'll be cleaning again in a week, and if those faint spots are still there then it's off to Service with 7 days left in the warranty. But I have the 20D now so sending off the 10D is much easier to do...

"Alas, poor sensor. I cleaned him, Horatio."
"To clean, or not to clean..."
"Get thee to a cleanery!"
"Something is rotten in the state of my sensor"

I use their Sensor Brush, and it makes cleaning the CMOS on my 10D very easy. When you shoot compressed air on the brush, it gets charged with electricity and this attracts dust off the sensor.
I seem have a stubborn spot, and I will try to remove it with their Sensor Clean.
