Hmm, less than a week left, and a giant lack of leaking from Canon. How to enjoy the build up? How about a more complete naming poll?

My vote:
low-end $2,000 7D at PMA to compete with D300 (this is the weather sealing upgrade, looks closer to a 40D).
And next up is a higher-end $4,000 3D to answer to Nikon's D3 by Fall. (new & better sensor technology, 4fps, bells and whistles, resemble the 5D look, shape, feel)

Both new models will be more related to 5D than 1Ds, 1D, or 40D cousins, but have all the new marketing gimmicks, live view, auto-dust shake, 14-bit etc.

And don't forget the 450D/KissDX/XTX with HD video, in-body image stabilization, and auto-focus during live-view is launching as well .

Its got to be 7D because I dreamt I saw it in a dream last week. Gotta stop reading POTN last thing at night!

I'd say 5D Mark II.. cause if it's called a 3D then the successor would probably be called a 1D. For the 7D after a few more years it might become a 10D.. The names would just be too confusing.

I don't see why the heck they'd abandon a whole numerical line after one model.. 5dII all the way!

I guess I should have added poll options for "5D & 3D" and "5D and 7D" to be precise.

I still think they split the 5D into two models, low-end full frame to tackle D300 and others, and high-end FF to compete with the D3.

I keep reading posts from people saying they have no competition to the 5D so why would they change it? Well, it is because there is no competition to the 5D price range, and the newer non-Canon models look more attractive at lower or higher price categories.

Rumor sites in Japan claim early chats with Canon staff in Vegas today. The "firm" word is no 5D upgrade/split until August or September. PMA will be all about the next 400D vs the next D40, some cool Olympus entries.

Oh, and Japanese photo-buffs seem in a buzz about the Adobe & Noritsu Koki mini-lab printing from RAW deal (http://www.noritsu.co.jp/english/news/20080121.html). Sounds cool... but exciting? :-)

I vote for 5D Mark II. The little Mark II badge on the front will make your compositions better :p
