the color version. While the sky is slightly more dramatic in the b&w - the rest of the pictures seems less so.

Of these 2, the mono for sure. BUT, you might isolate the sky on the color and boost the contrast there as well.

Excellent.

I'd go for the B&W - so that evens the scores up :)

I like the color one better for the overall composition, including the sky. The B&W one has a more dramatic presence to the sky, as it seems to stand out more, but the rest of the picture almost looks kind of dead in it.

B&W, absolutely!
If I saw the colour image in a gallery, it may not catch my eye.
But the B&W would definately catch my attention. Very nice!

I like the B&W, but the clouds are a little blown out. With a little tweaking it could be quite remarkable.

Both versions are excelent. Very nice work.

I like the color better overall. However, in an answer to the question, the B&W is certainly more dramatic IMHO.

When i look at the color version i think to myself "He took a nice picture of an already senic place" which is how i feel about many landscapes.

When i look at the B&W version i think "Wow, what a fantastic photograph".

I think though that the B&W conversion could have gone a little better, i'm looking at the photo and i'm not too sure how, but i just have a feeling it could be a little better somehow.

Thanks for the many input guys!!!

So far - its 4 for color, 5 for b&w and one who is sorta in between (clorich)...........I hope I counted that right :?

I will try to take into account all the suggestions posted...........and will see if I can improve these photos more.

TQ - I know what you mean about the b&w, I will try to do some selective tonal changes and see if that comes out better...........:-)

I personally like beter color version because contrast, oragne grass gives excellent complement colors with sky. Also on B&W version green tips of pines doesn't show.

regards.

B&W, but I like the original better than this one at the bottom.
