And it is correct. It's the top of the South Kaibab Trail. The mules are bringing stuff up from the guest ranch at the bottom.

Did you hike the trail? I was there in May and we hiked the Bright Angel Trail (http://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/upload/BrightAngelTrail.pdf)out to Plateau Point... 12 miles roundtrip! You think you'll be fine on the way down but it's the trip back that tries to kill ya... :)

It's a pretty common style of windmill in Greece so I was surprised when it wasn't there - figured it must be close to Greece though :-)

Yes, that's why I first guessed Greece, Monty. The trouble was that most Greek windmills are white and are plastered. The sails(?) are the same though!

Folks: I've started work on the archive. The link is in my signature. The gallery currently contains all the photos I've posted to WAIN, plus all the ones posted in May/June 2007 by people who have given me permission to take copies. It's in chronological order, so the newest ones (35 of mine) are at the front, and the oldest (20 of other people's) at the back.

If you're not familiar with SmugMug, there's a drop-down-thingy top right to control how the gallery is displayed.

I'll add to this in my "spare" time as and when.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Looks great. I don't know smugmug well, but I assume we could search by poster or "grand canyon" etc., and see if any matches come up.
