Herculaneum, surely?
Yes Stewart, it is Herculameum - you've got it.
I know I don't live in Europe, but isn't SE Europe considered the Balkans?
You can't get much further south in Europe that this - and you can't get a long way further east before you get to Asia (Turkey). I always regard the Balkans as Eastern Europe.

Achilles (The Wellington Monument),Sir Richard Westmacott (1775-1856)
1822, Hyde Park, London
(still working on the building in the background)
from here: (http://londondailyphoto.blogspot.com/2007/06/achilles-statue-hyde-park.html)
Richard Westmacott's statue of a nude Achilles is the dominant feature of the Wellington Monument in Hyde Park Corner. It was cast from cannons captured in the Duke of Wellington's military campaigns.
This statue is in Hyde Park, and was built as a tribute to Arthrur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington by "the Women of England". Created in 1822 it reads:
To Arthur, Duke of Wellington,
and his brave companions in arms
this statue of Achilles
cast from cannons won at the victories
of Salmanaca, Vittoria, Toulouse and Waterloo
is inscribed by their countrymen
It was the very first statue of a naked man on public display in London. Originally anatomically correct, the fig leaf was added later to save blushes although it has been chipped off twice - in 1870 and 1961.

Yeap that's it.
Sorry the clue was confusing. I didn't want to say it's NOT in Las Vegas and have you all start guessing all around the world, but it's not technically in Las Vegas.
It's actually at Ethel M candies. (Henderson)
"After retiring as boss of candy giant Mars at age 77, Mars moved to Henderson and in 1981 founded Ethel M Chocolates, named in honor of his mother.
He built a 45,000-square-foot factory in Henderson and made gourmet chocolate candy. He lived for a time in an apartment above the factory. "
