Is it part of Hearst Castle at San Simeon, California?
EDIT: I'm sure it is. See this (http://www.hearstcastle.com/history/the_castle.asp) for reasonably authoritative evidence.
EDIT 2: Thanks Derek for asking whether it was a religious building. I had automatically assumed it was, until I saw your question - that jolted me out of my thought patterns, and suddenly I recognised it!
Roy Mathers
30th of January 2008 (Wed), 04:06
Yes, it is the main house of Hearst Castle. I'm sorry I went to bed on you Derek, but it was 3.30am! The 'yes' I gave related to California but the confusion arose because Dan's post slipped in between question and answer.
Anyway, Stewart had it right and is now in the chair again.

Well done indeed, Monty.
I was amused when Roy asked whether this was in an ex-Colonial country. Of course it is, technically. But I expect he probably didn't have the USA in mind when he asked, and I imagine it's not the kind of phrase that necessarily goes down too well with our American friends!
Anyway, it's your turn.
