Guess the location of the posted picture and WIN
This game is very similar in structure to the super macro guessing game, EXCEPT the photo is opposite in scope. This game requires a post of a landscape/locational style photo.
For example post a picture of a notable bridge, park, etc. Viewers will then guess at the location/identity of the picture. The winner will post the next photo for guessing.
Hints are encouraged to keep interest and the game progressing. Suggested hints may be narrowing in local for example: hemisphere, continent, country, state or providence, city, etc. Or: cold, warm, warmer......
Simple rules:
limit photo size to 1024pixel on the long side max
if no response after 12 hours, game is open for anyone to post a new pic
photos should have a reasonable amount of identifiable content. Avoid pictures of the bottom side of a picnic table.
photos should be from a public location. No way can we guess the location of a picture of the inside of a dog house!
Have fun, keep it light!
This is a continuation of the original, which can be found here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=327826).

I actually just went up the west shore of England, starting at the Wales border until I wound places that has similar coastal features. The only problem is that on Google Earth, the tides appear to be very very low and make it tough to recognize things on the coastline. Couldn't find a verifying photo either.
Might want to update the rules a bit Tom. 1024 image size and I would vote for a 1 guess until replied to rule. You can always change your guess afterwards in a later post, especially if you have figured it out. Just a suggestion, not sure if everyone agrees or not.
Anywho, here is my next offering. WAIN?

Hi Roy.
The old thread is still around for us to read and check back on - it's linked in tomd's post above - but to ease the load on the servers, the Mods try to keep threads limited to about 10k posts.
If I'm right, this is only the second 'game' thread to get split (after TPBM - The Photo Below Me) - all the other splits have been the 'chat' threads.

What I don't understand is that the only two ferries on the Southport - Fort Fisher route are named "Southport" and "Fort Fisher", and they have their names in big letters on the side - but in Monty's photo the ferry has "Morehead City" on the side.

It is an amphitheater for the sea lion show I think. If you look behind the railing above the chamber you can see it is a tank and there are fish behind the glass.
More photos of it Here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bmorse14/sets/72157601868879019/)

I'd like to see a gallery of WAIN photos like Stewart's, but as a compilation of *all* WAIN photos instead. I could foresee copyright issues, but I guess it would be a matter of getting everyone's permission... any thoughts?I'd be happy to host it on SmugMug - storage there is unlimited. All I need now is permission from people who've posted WAIN photos to make copies...
