Hello...

Hello...

Hello!

Like the 3 Stooges of bugs. They look like what we used to call "Potato Beetles."

Great capture! Wonder if they were like that naturally or someone placed them like that before you came along? I've only ever seen the "solo".

Lovely find Joan - I assume these cicada larvae do still have occupants ?- they almost look the same as the empty skins.

Troy - Thanks Troy. I will be very disappointed if someone placed them like that for me as it was very early morning and I like to have the place to myself. LOL!! I was also surprised at the "stack" as I had onlt seen them solo myself.

Dave - thanks Dave. Sorry but the icons dont work on this dumb computer at work so I have to answer each person seperately. It definitely was an unusual find.

Brian - Thanks Brian. I did check and they were still occupied. I have so many pictures of just the shell, that I now check first before I take the picture.LOL!!

Makes me home sick - used to have these all over the trees in my garden in Nelspruit. Not many bugs here! Good find Joan.

Yes, quite embarrasing I agree but I think they were just snuggling up in the cold.:lol:

Thanks for commenting Johan. Poor you, it must be hell to be so far away from home. Especially coming from the Nelspruit area. I worked in Kruger for 17 years as a field guide.

 thanks Joan  I've been doing some landscapes still,, still head over to the beach now and then,, theres just not many bugs around  you remember what it was like in your part of the woods several months ago when everybody here was posting and you had no bugs  watcha gonna do,, spring will be here soon,,,, hey,,, did you buy that new macro lens yet ??

I have had a look at your beach shots and like them very much especially the sunrise / sunset type ones which always catch my eye for some reason. Yes, bugs were not very plentiful and I am now saving stuff to post when it gets to winter again. But then I was just starting with macro and now am totally hooked!! I hardly see animals anymore or take pics of them. :) I have not got my macro lens yet and am going this weekend to buy one. I believe I will be getting the 100mm but also want to check into a few other options which has been suggested to me. I have had quite a bit of success taking macro with my 300mm sofar, but it does not give me the clarity I want although they were fairy good.
