I absolutely LOVE Zenfolio but there is one thing that has been bugging me! I have sent them two e-mails so far and received the regular "we'll forward this to the dev team" responses.

So usually I would process my photos and 'stamp' them then send the web sized shots out manually. I thought since Zenfolio has the watermark option it would save me a lot of time instead of doing it manually BUT no one can access the direct image links except for me when I'm logged in. You can allow people to download the original images but what if I don't want people to be able to download the originals?

We should be able to allow clients we choose to have access to direct links or at least the ability to download the smaller sized images with watermarks.

Does anyone else feel the same? Please send them an e-mail suggestion if you do.

not that it really solves your problem, but how about just uploading re-sized photos, and not full-sized?

I may have to do that if they don't allow us more control over who has access to direct image links.

I'd rather keep the folder structure as simple as possible as I can see it growing very large, I already have over 25,000 images uploaded.

lol!

okay...here goes again...

In a nutshell, people who are not me cannot access the direct image links, only url's to individual image pages... Which also means they do not have the option to download the smaller images, only originals.

I want some 'clients' to be able to download the smaller watermarked images but not the originals. Unfortunately there isn't an option to do this with zenfolio.

OK, I got it. I tried it on my web site and it doesn't work.

A go-around would be to allow clients to email low res images. This would keep the watermark and they could print the image in the email.

huh? it e-mails a link, not the actual image.

I'm not saying it's ideal, but clients could copy the link and embed the photo into an email that could be printed.... Not the same, I know ... but something.

Do you have the premium service?

Also, you might want to password protect some of your personal folders before you send clients wandering through your galleries

Yes, I do have the premium account. We should have a basic control such as allowing certain people to access to direct image links, ect.

lol, high school days

and I am not directing anyone to my zenfolio account but I find it strange that you sought mine out as I haven't posted a link to it anywhere.

Sorry, my bad.

But if I could find it, I'm sure others could as well.

another suggestion for zenfolio

To have the ability to post images on forums, ect even when the folder that the image is in is password protected.
