I posted this in the colour sticky in RAW, Post Processing and Printing (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18) but think it deserves further coverage.
You can turn on colour management in Firefox 3 Beta 2 and what a difference it has made.
Just thought this would be helpful to people that don't like Safari.
Remember it's BETA and in no way a final product. Add-ons won't work, bugs will be everywhere but the colour man...the colour.
To enable it you must set gfx.color_management.enabled to true (via about:config) and restart Firefox.

Awesome! I would love FF to implement this in its release version.
Color management would be so useful.

So...
If you forget to convert to sRGB, other people using the same browser won't notice your mistake?

It's so good seeing the pics the way they were meant to be using my favourite browser.
I think it's pretty much a definite that it will be included in the final release.

Yip.
I think the bigger questions shoulde be: Does it "elevate" firefox users to the same level as mac users, and how long untill microfloppy copies them with Internet exploder 8.0 useing a MS proprioty colour management format?

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and downloaded it. I only had the exif viewer installed so I didnt lose hardly anything. I've noticed a few differences already. I love ff. :D

Type "about:config" on the address bar on Firefox without the quotes

I'll have to keep that in mind. FF is my default browser. Not sure if I want to deal with the bugs though. :)

ffx3.0b2 doesn't have many bugs. The main issues are more extension related - most of them don't work - however most of them can be modified to work with it quite easily. Extensions (.xpi files) are actually zip files, so if you unzip them you can edit the info files to allow version 3.0 to work.
The extension I appreciate the most - fxif - didn't work, so I modified it.
I didn't realise it added colour management - that's great! Thanks for the tip - enabled!

Sure is. Paste gfx.color_management.enabled into the filter. Double click on the entry and it changes. Restart, job done.
