Well, I finally broke down (after two long, hard weeks ) and picked up my first L-lens. A 300mm F/4L IS. I had to get something quick because my son only has about 4 weeks of football left, and I needed something fairly long and fast. It was a tough choice between this and the 70-200 F/2.8 IS.

Anyway, here is one of my first shots with it. It was dark when I got home, so this is about the only thing I could think of to shoot. Sorry it's so boring, but I was so dying to try this thing out.

It's not. Cheese doesn't hold its shape very well at all.

Looks like mine. Same lens with 1.4TC :)
Yours looks great! Nice shot. Get the 1.4 TC. Excellent complement to the 300 4L IS.

Hey....
Is the lens white enough for you?

I knew that was coming. Yes, it's white (Canon white).

Doom,

I just saw your pic after I posted mine. Yours came out really good too. Now I wish I would have got the 1.4x TC today like my friend was trying to talk me into doing. I'm sold. Looks like virtually no loss in sharpness with the TC. Maybe tomorrow......

Great moon shot. They're not as easy as some think. You can tell it's definitely not a full moon. Looks like an egg.

Thanks. I actually prefer to take moon pics when it's not full to get more detail on the outside craters. I did some shots with my Celestron telescope and a Coolpix 5700 about a year ago, and these 20d shots actually came out better in most cases.

Now I'm looking into what is needed to get this 20d hooked up to the telescope........

BTW, your racing pics are INCREDIBLE!!! It's actually one of the main things that prompted me to finally get a digital SLR. The Players champ car shots on the wet track are outstanding.

Great shots you guys! I did get the 70-200 mentioned, but now I'm jealous! Oh well, I guess we all need something in the future to look forward to.

A T-mount and standard 'scope eyepiece adapter. Also, have a look here (http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/astro/index-e.html) if you haven't already.

You know, I saw that site a couple of months ago and completely forgot about it. Thanks for the link.
