Love the POV you took. Leads the eye nicely into the shot and good BW conversion.

Is that an HDR B&W conversion? It's got a bit of that tone mapped look...

Yes correct it was an hdr image and then converted with channel mixer and built up with eleven contrast layers and two level adjustment layers masked and burnt in at the end.
