I just saw that this program is at Cosco, for $49. Is this a good program that would be worth picking up? Right now, all I have it what came with the camera, DPP. Thanks for your advise.

For $49, what have you got to lose? It's a great program that will do 80%+ of what PS CS3 will do for less than 10% of the cost (at that price). Go for it.

Yes, that is a good price and the program is quite good. Also, the program is relatively new, maybe out for 6 months.

Picked mine up for that price on Monday...
I use LR now for most of what I do... but needed a new version of Elements since 3.0 doesn't work right under Vista.
It also comes with OnOneEssentials for Elements plugins... includes a large set of frames, and an image scaler which they "claim" no loss of quality up to 4x enlargements... OnOne sells that alone for $50.

I strated with Elements 4 and moved up tp PSE5, It does a lot more then I know how. If PSE6 is better then PSE5, it will worth every penny of that.

First you might need to check if 40D Raw files are supported in V6.
Elements 5 does NOT, and provides no upgrade for this purpose.

I picked up elements 6 and it kinda of emulates the look of lightroom with the dark background and such. Not much has changed from PSE5, or if it has it isnt much for me to take notice. I have now removed PSE5 and use PSE 6 and Lightroom to edit.

Id say go for it, its a win-win situation:)

I use PSE5 with my 40D every day. The new ACR converter is my favorite. I like it better then DPP.
My 2ct.

OnOne sells that alone for $50.I was wondering about that when I picked up PE6 from Costco...is that a working copy of Essentials or just a demo that will stop working after a certain time period? I was confused because there's a small flyer in the box saying to go to the OnOne web site to purchase Essentials. Thought you had to pay for a key or something in order for it to work.

There was a serial # on the CD case that was asked for. I believe it is the full version. I am not at home right now, but can check this afternoon.

Have you tried using the Essentials plugins yet? If you have, do you like what they can do? I haven't installed mine yet and wondering if I should or not.

Thanks,
:) Samanax

Now that I am home, it looks like it is a full version. I have not gotten all the way through everything yet, but there are a lot of add-ons, frames, textures, borders, etc. Plenty to keep me busy this weekend since the rain is supposed to come in. I would go ahead and load it, enjoy!

Is it worth it to upgrade from PSE5 to PSE6 or should I go straight to CS3? Can PSE6 create actions? If not is there a cheaper alternative to creating actions without going to CS3 as that's the only feature I'm missing that I think I need.
I have a watermark that I would like to apply to batches of pics.
