What lab do you use and why? I have been using ProEx/Ritz as they are just a couple of miles from my house - I upload files via the internet and two hours later go pick up the prints. So far, so good.

But I am going to be doing my daughter's Senior pictures (just the outdoor ones, she is having the indoor ones done by someone who knows what she is doing :D ) and I want the wallets to be rounded corners and I"m not happy with ProExs wallet size prints. Any suggestions?

Ritz or Walmart or Costco... they can be hit or miss, depending on the place and who happens to be running the machine and how often they change chemicals, etc. I've had excellent work done by them and rotten work done. It's not worth my time to get them to re-do rotten ones.

I like to find a good photo store. Talk to them, ask questions, and see how they answer. Run some test prints through them and see how they do.

I think a good local shop is worth a little bit more for the prints. The same people will be there every day. They'll get to know you and what you want. They won't complain - usually - if they mess up a shot and have to re-print. I like my local shop a lot. The owner has been in the business a long time, does studio shots himself, and knows photography. His son runs the machines usually, and knows computers. It's a good place, and it's worth the extra 10 cents a print.
