Have anybody both cards and 20D tested which is fastest one?
I just sold my 2 1 GB Kingston cards because they were slow in 20D so I want to buy either
one 2 GB Sandisk Ultra II
or two 1 GB Sandisk Ultra II
but I want the fastest of the two.
According to Galbraith CF db the 1 GB is faster than the 2 GB on a 1D MK II (though not a lot)

Why bother? SanDisk has just announced an 8 GB (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/09/30/8gb_flash_card/) CF Ultra II.

Perhaps someone else could take this a little more serious and post some advice about which card is faster in 20D.

Tommy the Galbrith Cf data base doesn''t list the 20 yet but the 10 is as follows
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007-6111
Ultra II 1 gig write = 1.317 MB / sec
Ultra II 2 gig write = 1.350 MB / sec
I have the 2 gig and am happy with it. Buy.com for $165

Unfortunately the rebate on buy.com is not valid for non-us citizens so the price would be $187, then add shipping the price would probably end at $220, then add the danish 25% VAT and the price is $275 :(

tommykjensen I have a silly suggestion, so take it at what its worth.
Have you considered actually flying to the US and get all the gear you want. If you take those travel packges (ticket & hotel) it might be worth while. I'll leave the legal aspects to you :D

That question is not silly at all
It is something I consider seriously. The money I could save on the lens 100-400 L could probably pay for a weekend in New York!
But I am going to wait until march/april 2005 where I hopefully am going to Florida, Orlando and I consider to go via New York.
btw, one thing though is good about Denmark, today I just sold my 1 year old 300D for $830 ! I would not get that much if I sold it in US

Why do you have to go to NY, you'll get the same prices in Florida as in NY (I think), so you can save on the money going to NY.

Well its only because, I know of B&H in New York and despite me asking here and on several other international forums about shops in Orlando I have not received any info on that query!
But on the other hand I would not mind visiting New York, I have never been there except for passing through the airports to Florida or California.

If that's the only reason that makes you go to NY, let me know. My nephew is studying in Florida so I can ask him about good photo shops there.

If You could ask him anyway that would be great, thanks.

Hi Tommy.
Something tells me that you'll have a very hard time trying to find actual differences between these two cards, especially in "real-world" conditions. I have the 10D and recently acquired the 1 GB Sandisk Ultra II card - it's much faster than my previous cards (256MB x30 Transcend and 256MB x24 dane-Elec). I'd get the 2GB card, but that was WAY out of my budget (as a matter of fact, even the 1GB card was out of the budget, but the photo equipment always is, isn't it ? ).

That might be true, but it will most likely still be much cheaper than in Denmark!
