If you are looking for inexpensive but good quality lighting then your best option will probably be the Elinchrom D-Lites. They offer a Digital 200 Watt/Second light (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/478437-REG/Elinchrom_20481_D_Lite2_200_W_S_Monolight.html) and a Digital 400 Watt/Second light (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/478437-REG/Elinchrom_20481_D_Lite2_200_W_S_Monolight.html)

These lights along with Impact air cushioned light stands and Photoflex Softboxes will give you the best quality and value for the cost. Go with less lights to start if you have to but don't buy cheap lights that won't give you consistency from pop to pop or that have several hundred degrees of color temp. variation between full and low power.

I have the exact same Monolights, but they are branded RPS Studio. I also have the Barn Doors, Grid and Gels. I can't tell from the pictures if the light stands are the same. I have 40" umbrellas, and a three (3) light setup, that included an IR Trigger. The kit you linked to is the best price I have seen for that grouping of items. I have that much invested, without the softbox umbrella or backdrop stands and backdrops.

I have the background support system listed there and its good. I have had no problems what so ever with mine. I will say this, I tried to get a sandwashed and I got what they called a Chestnut. They were out of the sandwashed at the time, DO NOT get the chestnut unless you want an orange backdrop. I have never used it yet and wasted my money. Not exactly their fault so I am not blaming them. Just learn from my mistake. You just never know exactly what color a background will be until you get it.
