I never see any animals here said the ladys :) ( short rant)

I was at the Botanical Garden siting under a tree watching the birds :) waiting for the just right shot! From way down the path I heard to women talking, and laughing and hollering to each other. It took a while for them to get to where I was and one of them looked at me and said "Why don't we ever see any animals here?" I bit my lip and told them I had seen a Bluejay, Cardinal, Cockoo, Blackcap Chicadee, Robin, Mocking Bird, Goldfinch and 2 birds I couldn't identify. I also saw several squirrels and a chip monk. All withing the last 15 minutes before they came along:?. They looked at me funny and walked down the path talking loud enough for all to hear. Go figure.

Last week the same thing happened at a wet land on the James river. A couple were complaining they never say any birds or animals. I suggested that if they leave the dog at home and walk real slow and quiet they might see some animals. Wow was I a SOB for saying that!! O well,, I get to see animals sometimes, when I am not too clumsy and noisy :)

And they likely didn't even see Harvey the Rabbit. Not many can. You gotta be REAL quite, and understanding. Though when you do see him, most non-believers will think your just bonkers.

My two dogs.. Bumpus and Roo are now 13 and very very tired... they actually move so slow that they don't interfere with birding much :) By the time they catch up to me at there own leisurly pace.. I have allready got the pic :wink:
