We have just opened our online doors at www.cameralensrentals.com (http://www.cameralensrentals.com). We offer a wide range of Canon lenses. At this time we do not carry Nikon, but look forward to providing that in the future. As part of our grand opening we are offering 15% off your first order. We also offer an affinity program where you rent three lenses and your fourth rental is free. We offer a damage waiver on all our lenses also. Please check us out and feel free to contact us with any questions or suggestions you may have.
take care,

Thanks for the good luck wishes! I really appreciate it. Its amazing how many people this site has already driven towards my site. You guys are the best.

Pro,
As far as when its in, we have it in our inventory, its just out on a rental. All the lenses on the website are in our inventory, and some have gone pretty quickly. There is a reservation button that shows up if the lens is not in stock. Just click that and select the date that you want it and I will get back with you on working it out.

Once our Grand Opening discount is discontinued I am going to be back here to put up another code for the people of Canon Digital Photography Forums. This will be a continuous discount that will not expire.

thanks to all of you for visiting!

I'm giving CLR a shot. Seems like a fair person, and wants to make it a good deal for both sides. I will for sure report back. I'm getting the 70-200 2.8 non IS, and the 10-22 for a trip to disney early next month.

I will report back when we return!! I am fully expecting it to be a positive experience, and a lot of fun!

just an observation, at the bottom of your home page, in the "step 4" box, it says, "put your CAMERA back in the box...." - now that's an interesting trade!

Checked out the site, and liked the personal yet professional feel to it. But I would really edit your faq's for typos and ect. I noticed quite a few just flipping through it. Good luck with the business. I added you on my favorites and may be using you in the future.

Most definitley we will. Please make a suggestion from the websites "suggest equipment" link or you can make one here. The response has been overwhelming and I have place 4 orders on new lenses already. Let us know what you would like and we can see about adding it. The customer is the one who picks out the lenses for us. We would also like to hear about what additional accessories you might like to have. I know we are going to be adding flashes, tripods, and a few other things. So please give us your input here or via the website!
thanks so much,
Barry

Do the lenses come with the hoods?

Sorry I just found it.

What can I expect in the package?
The lens or body you ordered, front and rear caps, as well as the original carrying case. You will also receive a UV filter that is already attached to the lens. This is mostly for protection purposes. Most lenses will have a hood included (non “L” Canon lenses will not unless you request one. Even then we cannot guarantee we have one for that particular lens). If all items that were shipped are not returned you will be charged for the replacement of that item. If you call us and say, "hey I forgot to put the lens carrying case back in the box", just give us an expected date of when we are going to receive it. Any more than 7 days out you will be charged for that item with no refunds. If you call us and say, "Hey I forgot to put the lens back in the box", we will immediately charge you for the cost of replacing the lens. Once we receive the lens your credit card will be credited back for the replacement charge.

Yeah, even if we dont have them in stock for a particular lens, just give us a few days notice and we can order you one. As opposed to having it shipped to us and then to you...we will probably just have it shipped directly from B&H to your door. That way you can get it the same time the lens arrives.
thanks for your inquiry. Just to let you know..All L lenses come with a hood. Also have them for the 10-22 and the 50mm 1.4. We are always looking for a reason to add more accessories, so just let us know!

Excellent idea, I can see this business flourishing; If this becomes a well known and respected bussines in the storm chasing community look out!! Many of us as chasers use our cameras for a total of 3-4 weeks out of the year, so spending $1,000's of dollars on lenses is not really something many of us look forward to, renting lenses would easily solve this problem. Have you tried marketing this business to the storm chasing community yet?

I have a couple buddies who have rented from him already, and they seemed to be completely satisfied; I have been in contact with him about renting a lens later this Spring, and I must say his customer service truly is first class!!! Not often you find a business that offers both the best prices and also offers the best customer service.

I'm definitely going to be renting my lenses from you, should be quick on the shipping.

Woops, I just sent you an e-mail for some lens requests and didn't see the 50 1.2 and the 17-85 already on the site. Sorry.

Cameralensrentals

Let me know. I have had a few requests for them, probably going to order the 24mm and the 45mm

Why is the 70-200 f4 IS more expensive to rent than a 2.8 IS?

Cameralensrentals
27th of February 2008 (Wed), 23:24
I am going to be adding tripods this weekend. Those are some of the things I am ordering.
As far as the F4IS being more expensive. I think your misreading. I have a 3day on the 2.8 and not the f4. So the f4 might look more expensive if your just reading the prices from top to bottom.

I might be renting the 300 F/4L for 2 or 3 weeks from CLR, based on the comments and reviews I've seen so far.

Just wanted to post some more positive feedback. Camera Lens Rentals (Barry) went more than the extra mile getting me what I requested. He even went so far as to purchase an additional 10-22 EF-S for me to rent since the one he had was reservered during our initial conversations along with buying a tripod/head combo specifically for my rental. Sounds like their inventory will be expanding in the coming weeks - to include Nikon, Sony Alpha and Pentax.

Great customer service and very reasonable prices.
