Haven't been around here in ages! Just getting over the post holiday portrait burnout. I was setting up my studio yesterday and snapped this. I don't usually do the high key thing but it really hides wrinkles and stuff! :)

Very nice, a little hot spot on the face.

Any chance I could have that lighting around me all of the time?!?!
I like her expression, while you get a hint at a healthy and sucessful woman, her face seems to say "I'm all of that, but I'm reduced to special lighting to get the danged wrinkles out!"
Almost a chink in the armor we older women wear!

yah, hot spot w/the processing. As it's me, I had to laugh at the "I'm all that.." hahaha...my least favorite feature is my facial parentheses! But at almost 38, what can you do?!! Here is the original:

You got the parentheses, I got the '11' between the eyes! I'm going with the line that they are signs of experience!
And look at the rest, trim, attractive, great attitude! I tell my younger, tauter friends that it's easy to look hot at 20 or 30. Come see me when you're 40+ if you still look that good and I'll be impressed! ;)

Back to the photo...
IMO, you'd need to be wearing a lighter shirt for high key, or apply the effect to the whole scene. With the blackness of this one, the face just looks washed out.

Kristine,
You're prettier when you smile.
Do that, and people will only notice your beautiful eyes.

 aw, thanks Curtis. But you're wrong...what they'll notice is my crow's feet!
Working on flash output and getting used to the lighting in this particular room. Haven't set up my lights yet. I hope to grab some unsuspecting subjects later...and they think we invite them over for dinner b/c we like hanging out with them!
Here's a smiling shot ... I find it hard to smile at an unmanned camera! I don't know why my head is all tilted the way it is. At least I can see my latest hair colors!

I like that one much better, Kristine.
Don't let the crow's feet bother you. True beauty comes from a confident smile, and it is timeless.
