Last night was a bad one for me, but it made me think that there must be some real horrible stories that might be kind of therapeutic to tell others.
I'll start . . .

Last night I had an appointment to meet some people and take some photo's of their outside Christmas lights and interior decorations. First, its raining like crazy (yes, in Phoenix it sometimes does) so the outdoor stuff is out. I show up at 7 and they had totally forgot all about it and had company. They tell the company to leave and that we had a half hour to do the shoot because their father was in the hospital about to have surgery! I'm in a panic at this point and hurriedly get my stuff set up. This is not good because I'm somewhat new and still methodical. I put my mode dial on C1 which I thought was low light indoors and started shooting. After chimping the first few I thought they didn't look great but since I was shooting in RAW I could tweak the exposure later. The phone is ringing off the hook at their house now with people telling them to get to the hospital and I volunteer to come back at a better time but they decline and the shooting continues. To make a long story short, I had changed my C1 last week to do a car show outdoors and was shooting in JPEG and ISO 100. I'm sick. I haven't even downloaded the card and don't even want to. But I'm sure you all have similar stories . . .

Wow, these people forgot you were coming over? Apparently they forgot that Christmas is in December too. Oh...the horror! :)

They have a 2800 sq. ft. house with 14 Christmas trees and more decorations than an entire main street. But---it is all done tastefully and is gorgeous. She starts decorating in September and it takes till the end of February to get it down.

I don't know that I have any "horror" stories, but I've had my fair share of problems. The last wedding I did, the groom was late because the bride had originally told him that I would come to his house to shoot some preliminary "prep" photos, but then forgot to tell him that plans changed. Since he was late, we lost quite a bit of time in which to do the formal portraits, and things were a bit rushed, but it was all good in the end. I would have much preferred to have more time, but things happen and you learn to roll with it.
