The first two images were taken at the Sydney in bloom festival last weekend. The last one was taken in the back garden:

I really don't know enough to offer a valuable critique, but I've found that in other forums if I reply to an unanswered post, several others will be along shortly to give an opposing opinion. So hopefully someone will be along to give you some REAL advice.

As for your photos:

1) I like the color and texture. I may have cropped into the flower on the left a little since the one on the right is more in focus.

2) Looks a little flat color-wise. Maybe a touch of saturation would help. I think the dusty green of the foliage would have made a nice contrast to the yellow and would like to see more of it.

3) Again, the color is a little flat, but the texture is interesting. A slightly different angle that would have eliminated the sky in the background may have given a better overall image.

I get the impression that these were crops from larger photos? The second and third especially are pixillated in the background. You might try using a softening tool in PP to blur the pixillated areas and set your camera to a higher resolution the next time you take it out.

I look forward to seeing more photos from Australia. :D

Thanks for the feedback. I'll play around with the crops and the saturation. Similarly, I'll try and get the last plant from different angles to remove the sky.

The image links are from Fotopic.net. It seems the link is to the image they've constrained. I think this has resulted in some of the blockiness.

I've edited the post above to show the collection the photos are in. They were taken at the highest resolution the 10D will offer.

Cheers.

Chris
