The 40D is much quieter then the 20D but.......

There's a lot of water birds in the wetlands near (er..actually next to) my house, and I can't believe how fast they are. They see you and dive, and there is no way you're able to find them again.
On another issue, I find my 40D to emit a big "grunt" when the shutter sounds, compared to the squeak that comes from my 400D :D

Are you guys using the silent shutter mode on the 40D? I currently have a 350D, but the liveview and silent shutter modes on the 40D are really starting to appeal to me..

 It's embarrassing but I haven't figured out how to activate that yet, I'll have to consult my manual :D

HAHA, nice shots Mike. Canon needs to have a custom function where you can set the sound of the shutter, quack-quack for ducks, chirp-chirp for little birds, tap-tap for woodpeckers.

Thank you all. I will have to look for the silent mode but I think I like the Quack-Quack mode Idea Alot we need to get that to Canon ASAP maybe it could be a downloadable upgrade.
