Does anyone have a problem when shooting raw, in continuous mode, (or other drive mode) that a thumbnail is not created, and/or it displays briefly on playback, and/or image or thumbnail is missing upon downloading to computer.

You may have seen my posting on other groups, I am trying to get Canon to identify this problem !

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Check out the D30/D60 forum here http://www.robgalbraith.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi. I have noticed a discussion there, although not having a D60 :( I have paid no attention.

Yes, Mike

As I stated in the other forum (BridePhoto) I too have seen this jumping thumb. I think it does seem to happen more on continuous mode, so I have been shooting everything on single frame. I am trying to pay attention to when and where, which CF card is in, etc..

When I shoot weddings, I am not watching each and every LCD preview, so I really dont know if its happening or not. The last wedding I did (last Sat) I didnt have any corrupted files.. everything seem to go well so I am counting my blessings... but still paying close attention.

I have seen mine do the "no write until the shutter is pressed" problem as well. Yes, it does exist. I just try to keep going anyway. I dont thik we will ever know exactly why... at least for now.

Paul,

You should send the camera to Canon. They are going to replace mine with a new properly working camera! However they are not going to create a recall. it appears only those who ask for a fix, which they cannot seem to do, will get another!

There is no reason to not have the camera work as designed!

I suggest you send it, or if nearby to NJ, take to their repair center!

After they have the camera, and do not fix the problem, you need to ask that they replace it under warranty.

It does not appear to matter which kind of CF or microdrive used, it is an issue with the camera!

Need more info let me know!

Hi Mike,
I have been using my D60 for about 2 month now and have also noticed the problem you mention when using a 512Mb microdrive and recording in RAW mode. The problem seems to come and go - when you scroll through the recorded images - you sometimes get a thumb and other times not - anyone know a fix?

Thanks,
Keith
