Just bought a 300 f4 from this forum (thanks dave) finally got to use it today. I loved it, so much nicer to use than my old 200. IS is really handy as well didn't think I would need it much but I think I might be wrong. c&c appreciated.

like the shots, wish you would have used a higher shutter. Maybe ISO 800 and get that shutter over a 1000.

Hi Laim, congrats on the new lens, is it a L lens?, good shots, #3 is your best pic, #1 & #2 might need sharpened a little, #4 needs more shutter speed, as AthleticsPhotog said bump up your ISO to get the speed up, I have a 300f4 L great lens, took a few games to get used to,

Fourth one's nice, but would benefit from being cropped into 'portrait' mode. That'll take away from the fact that the top of his heads JUST been sliced off. Good stuff though! :)

Thanks for the comments. All of the shutter speeds were above 1000 except the last one when the sun went in, but I liked it so kept it. #1 and #2 I think were just oof due to my 350d being crap.

Thanks

Nothing wrong with a little motion blur in the extremities to show movement....

Thanks Dave, It looks a lot better I think I need to crop a lot more on all my photos as I seem to like spaces to much.

Thanks.

Liam,

The lens looks to be working well for you, but the uniform crop ratio thing just isn't working for me. If you need a certain crop ratio to make a certain size print, you can always go back and re-edit your original, but I think you'll find your action shots better received if you just crop them as needed to balance that particular shot and fairly tight at that.

I'd also like to more peak collisions. These don't show much of an opposing team, which helps to spice things up.

1 and 2 look a bit soft. We all get those (I get tons myself), but I'd probably refrain from posting them if they can't be cleaned up. JMHO.

Keep 'em coming. I love the rugby action.

Regards,
Jeff
