I have been given an assignment for a photography class to take a picture showing "color or lack thereof". I know what this means to me but I thought it would be fun see how others interpret "color or lack thereof" in a photograph. Personally, I am not going with the obvious. Any opinions?

Well, I once took a photograph of an albino kitten in it's litter with it's gray & brown brothers.
I think that would fill the bill for "lack thereof"...

That is exactly the angle I am taking. Although I don't have an albino kitten. I may use balls of yarn. All bright and in th middle I will use grays, black and white.

Snow with dark weeds coming through making a pattern on an interesting shape. shoot so the snow is white and the weeds or whatever is very dark and fairly monochrome.

Great idea. The snow has almost melted here. This is a beginners class and I think a lot of students are thinking...lots of color or no color (black and white). I was curious to see if others saw it the way that I did. I have some shots that I have already taken that might fit the bill but I will also do a new one.

Have you ever experimented with infra-red? They give some unique results with colour... My own camera doesn't support it, but I read an interesting article about it the other day
