Very nice photos! I wanted to ask how you created the template so the photos seem to be "taped" in the corners, as well as how did you reorganize the header options on your site? It seems to be that mine is pretty much stuck in the same position in the default mode. Very nice layout.

Thanks, the tape effect is actually one of the presets for the photo frames. You can also create your own by doing a custom photo frame. As for the header, you can only adjust it by going into customize for the home view and then at the top there is an option to edit the header. If I remember right it is called something weird.

Great job. My question is how did you get the header options on your home page? It seems you have to delete all the original fields then create your own? I don't want half of the header like "clients" and would like to have just a few options such as yourself. Also, it seems like you cannot rearrange them into the order you prefer.

You can do all of that under the home page "edit Page" option. You can move, rename, redirect and add submenus.

Awesome. After going to that menu, which I knew where it was and had tried before I realized that you have to click on the left margin of whichever header you want to move and just drag it into desired position! Brilliant! ZF customer service even told me this was not possible. What a seemingly simple yet HUGE help. Thanks. I love your hot air balloon shot too. Looks like stained glass.

This probably is in here somewhere, but what size pics (dimension size do you usually load up. I noticed during my trial I was loading up mostly 800x600, but when if you used slide show it tried to display them full screen and of course they didn't look good. I didn't notice any way to change that default unless I missed it or most are loading up bigger pics.

Well I initially uploaded 600x800 for web resolution but then decided I wanted to allow printing on mpix so I am taking down and reuploading full res images instead. However, you can make each gallery slideshow display a max size but you need to go onto the edit menu and manually choose each gallery you want and the size you want it to display at max size wise. Hey Greg. Looks great! A lot of great shots too. If i had to nit-pick one tiny thing. On the contact page, the email link, in my experience it is better to have your actual email address visual, as not everyone has a mail client set up. if that makes sense.

Decided to join Zenfolio and as Go Daddy had special offers I also got a .com address to go with it. Not much on there just now but will be adding all the time. I'm not sure if I will go with the premium account or a lesser one when the trial runs out as I don't really need the option to sell.

Too damn bad I went to Wordpress 2 weeks ago to start one. Hope it isn't too terrible to move over as I only have 3 posts. However, that is great news to consolidate it all into one place. FINALLY!

CSMphoto- Just out of curiosity, how did you link your wordpress blog to your zenfolio page? I too have a WP but tried the Zenfolio blog and so far I hate it and would LOVE to somehow link the WP to my Zenfolio blog.

When you're editing your home page, goto "Site Menu" find your "Blog" then change it to "External Website" and in the bar, type in the address to it. I also like to make it so that it opens in a new window, so I check the box for that option as well.

Question for Zenfolio account holders.

I've recently upgraded my account to be able to set my own pricing. So I'm promoting the site as a sales portal now. I've had one person express a desire to purchase an image but she has had trouble "figuring it out"... Have any of you heard this from your customers and how have you handled helping them, perhaps right on the site, with making a purchase?

I honestly haven't had anyone tell me they can't or dont understand my ZF site... I myself have trouble with understanding it in terms of set up, etc because there are a myriad of options....I have sold a few 1000 worth of photos from the site so by no means a power customer but so far no probs. If anyone did ask for help I suppose I'd just get on the phone with them and walk them through it.

Couple of thoughts...the first slide on your front page is in landscape but your slide show format is in portrait..that doesn't do the photo justice... usually the first slide on a ZF slideshow sets the orientation..not sure why yours isn't doing that...I suggest figuring that out so when someone hits your site they are welcomed with a more impactful photo. Last comment I'd make is in the text you included....that fact that you 'upgraded' has no relevance to anyone visiting your site...simply tell visitors that your photos are available for purchase and a little about yourself. All the extra stuff about watermarks, etc should be detailed in your gallerys not on your welcome screen...good luck...hope it was helpful

Same comment here. I have two slide shows I use. One where ALL the photos are portrait and one where all the photos are landscape. I switch back and forth between them. This way your content doesn't get stale if you have nothing new AND your photos fill the slideshow box properly.

Turns out that every person who look at your slideshow on wide gamut monitor (like my u3011), see oversaturated colours on every picture.

Something to keep in mind, when you look for potential clients.

Just clicked through about a hundred sites because I'm thinking about setting up a Zenfolio account. I'm sure it's been said here as well as everywhere else but, you people with the music on your site are shooting yourselves in the foot. Everyone I know, myself included, automatically closes the page if music starts playing. I used to look for the control on the page to turn it off; now I don't even bother.

Otherwise, there are some very nice galleries in this thread. I'm leaning toward Zenfolio over Smugmug.
